On arrival at our Scottish Borders Campus you will be greeted by Heriot-Watt University staff and students. Please make your way to the Main Entrance reception where you can collect your Open Day bag with an event programme for the day.

Since there is so much to see and do, a comfortable pair of shoes would be useful so you can explore our campus fully!

Please be aware that there will be a rail replacement service in place on Saturday 7th October between Edinburgh Waverley and Gorebridge.

Travelling by car?

Open day visitors can use the main car park directly in front of the main campus building. The satellite navigation postcode is TD1 3HF.

Travelling by bus?

The X95 bus service which is run by First buses travels from Edinburgh City Centre to Galashiels. Use First Group's journey planner to plan your trip.

Travelling by rail?

Please note - a rail replacement service will be in place on Saturday 7th October. Please allow extra travel time.

The Borders Railway links the School of Textiles and Design to Edinburgh City Centre. If you are travelling from Edinburgh, you should get on the train at Waverley Station and get off the train at Galashiels Station. For timetables and prices, visit www.scotrail.co.uk.

Free shuttle bus: We will be running a free shuttle bus service from Galashiels station to the campus throughout the day. Please look out for the Heriot-Watt student ambassador who will be on the platform. They will direct you to the meeting point where a friendly member of staff will drop you directly to the campus.

Travelling by air?

From Edinburgh Airport, take the bus (with Lothian Buses) or tram (with Edinburgh Trams) into Edinburgh City Centre. We recommend that you allow an hour for this trip.  From Edinburgh City Centre, you can then take the train from Waverley Station to Galashiels.

Staying overnight?

If you are planning to stay overnight in Galashiels, we have accommodation available in our halls of residence for Open Day visitors. The price per room is from £38 per person for B&B. Visit Jean Muir Student Village, Galashiels on www.booking.com for more information and to book.
