Please check the activity schedules below to get an idea of what will be going on during the Open Day on the date you are planning to attend. All of the activities on the day are drop-in and unreserved. Please note however, that we will prioritise prospective students over family and other guests for any activities that become crowded.

We recommend that you plan your day in advance; this will help you to make the most of your time with us. Please allow at least 15 minutes to transfer between activities across the campus.

Campus orientation walking tours

Take a walking tour with one of our current students to help you get your bearings before you fully immerse yourself in all of the activities taking place around our campus.

Duration: approx 30 mins.  Tours depart frequently from the James Watt Centre 2 throughout the day, last tour departing 3.30pm.

Academic activities

A number of subject presentations will be available throughout the day, delivered by the academics who teach that subject. These aim to give you an insight into what and how we teach at Heriot-Watt.

If you have any questions about a specific subject then please visit the relevant Subject Stand to chat with academics on an individual basis. The Subject Stands will be located in different academic buildings across the campus and will be listed on the event programme map.

Some of our subject areas will also offer a tour of their facilities.  You can find out more about the timings of these tours at the relevant Subject Stand on the day.
