Our FAQs are listed below. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, contact us at email@example.com.
I cannot attend either Open Day date. Can I arrange to visit on a different day?
Yes you can. We would be very happy to arrange a visit for you on an alternative date. Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I didn't manage to book an Academic talk/tour. Who can I speak to?
At the Open Day Welcome Desk our staff will be available to help you. If there are spaces on tours we will try our best to find a slot but we cannot guarantee there will be spaces. You will also be able to drop in to the Academic Exhibition Area at any point throughout the event to chat with staff.
Can I bring my family with me on a tour or talk?
Yes, provided there are spaces available. Please make sure you pre-book for everyone who wishes to attend.
I need to cancel or amend a tour or talk booking, what should I do?
As spaces are limited please contact us at email@example.com if you wish to cancel or amend any of your bookings. Please do not make duplicate bookings.
I have booked a tour or talk, where should I go?
Unless otherwise advised, please make your way to the Departure Area beside the Open Day Welcome Desk five minutes before your tour is due to start.
Is it best to arrive at 10am exactly?
You can come and go as you please during the day, so you don't have to arrive ‘on-time' at 10am or stay until 4pm. Most visitors spend about 3-4 hours to take advantage of all the fantastic activities taking place throughout the day. We recommend arriving by around 2.30pm at the very latest.
Do I need to bring my Eventbrite ticket with me?
You do not need to bring your booking confirmation/ticket with you on the day. However, please remember to bring a note of your booked tour or talk times with you.
Is there somewhere to eat on campus?
The campus canteen will be open all day and serving light lunches and snacks. Please just follow the signs or ask for directions.
Should I bring a portfolio of my work with me?
If you have work you would like to show to the academic staff who teach our undergraduate degree programmes then they would be happy to talk this over with you. They can also give you some guidance on what the School of Textiles & Design is looking for in a portfolio when you apply through UCAS.
Is the School and campus disability friendly?
Disability is not a barrier to studying at HWU and enjoying every aspect of student life. Our campus is well equipped for those of you who have a disability or special need. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org as early as possible so that we have time to put any required support in place for you.
Accessible information can be made available in alternative formats if required. Please contact the Disability Service on 0131 451 3509 or email@example.com.
