What Next? Career Planning for Researchers - Part 1 (Webinar)
Learn what it takes to be successful in an academic role and how to address the challenges you may face. This workshop is an opportunity to discuss tips, strategies, and coping mechanisms for success and help participants succeed in academic jobs. Each participant will develop a plan for their next career stage with new knowledge they can put into practice straight away.
This workshop is delivered by Jennifer Steven, a Careers Consultant currently working for the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh, Jennifer worked in diverse Russell Group institutions delivering workshops and training plus individual advice to a range of students, staff and those on executive programmes. She worked for the London School of Economics and Political Science for a number of years and whilst there worked on a series of international projects in Brussels, China, Hong Kong and the USA. This work was developed and delivered with international partners including Harvard, Columbia, Sciences Po, the College of Europe and Cambridge.
Participants will learn how to:
- Develop long term self-management skills for future career progressions
- Consider the current job market
- Keep up to date with relevant labour market intelligence to support career progression
Participants are expected to attend both sessions.
