RSE Curious: The Drugs Don't Work

Speaker: Dr Helen Bridle, Heriot-Watt University

As part of the Royal Society of Edinburgh Curious Series, join Dr Helen Bridle to find out about new technologies for detecting infectious disease and particularly selecting and monitoring treatment, with a focus on TB and antibiotic resistance.

Helen's research is focused on developing new technologies for detecting infectious disease and selecting and monitoring treatment. The focus is on TB and antibiotic resistance and the work being undertaken in the Arrest-TB project. Infectious disease detection and antibiotic resistance are very relevant right now but are topics that are often misunderstood. This session will enhance understanding and hopefully help people make better and more informed choices.
