Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing Semiconductor Start-ups
The global semiconductor chip industry is entering a period of robust growth and is expected to reach about US$600 billion in 2022 - the opportunity for start-ups and university research teams to commercialise their innovations have never been better.
Silicon Catalyst and GRID at Heriot-Watt University are focused on developing high-growth opportunities and equipping aspiring Scottish based semiconductor ventures to transform into scale-ups. The University’s heritage is rooted in industry and international collaboration, delivering education and innovation through knowledge transfer, commercialisation and partnership.
Silicon Catalyst has created a rich ecosystem of 50 in-kind partners and over 200 expert executive advisors to help start-ups succeed. This network lowers the capital expenses associated with the design and fabrication of silicon-based IC’s, sensors, and MEMS devices by providing advanced design tools and services from this network. The company also work closely with the UK Government’s semiconductor policy team, based in the department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Come along to hear from those founders that have gone before who will share their learning with new semiconductor start-up teams that are starting now.
