Recreational sport programme
Heriot-Watt University Sports Union now offers multisport memberships.
This is an opportunity for individuals to come along and play some recreational sport with no commitment. This includes handball, dodgeball and touch rugby. Memberships are available to buy, or you can pay per play at Oriam reception prior to the session.
Dodge, duck, dip, dive and duck out the way of flying balls in a fun session!
Staying true to the infamous movie, we will use red balls and encourage you to follow the 5Ds. A volunteer run session, this will ensure you get moving and have a great time with your friends in the impressive Sports Hall 1 in Oriam.
With Oriam being the Scottish base for handball, it was only right that we introduced a handball session to our offering. With rising popularity in the UK, handball is a great way to improve coordination and fitness and have a good time. With easy-to-learn rules and its non contact nature, handball is a great game for all.
Similarly to handball, the Scottish Rugby Teams (men's and women's) are both based at Oriam. With both men's and women's rugby at the forefront of sport at the moment, the Sports Union wanted to offer a lower intensity version for all, along side our competitive offering. Touch rugby is a mixed game, with any level welcome to play. Led by student volunteers it truly is for the students by the students.
