Off Campus - Studios
We have a number of studio apartments off campus available for postgraduate students. Modern, bright and spacious, these studios offer a completely private space with private bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. They vary in size but are 21 square meters minimum and are priced individually according to size and layout.
The studio accommodation is single or double occupancy, self-catered and only available to Heriot-Watt students.

How to apply
Applications for the year 2023/2024 are open. If you are interested in accommodation off campus, please note this in the comments section of your application.
If you request or are allocated an off campus studio, your application will be passed to our partner, ELS Housing, and they will contact you to make you an offer of accommodation. Please ensure you read the terms and conditions fully. You will be contracting directly with this provider.

What’s included in the rent?
The rent includes:

- Assisted clean of public areas. Students are required to maintain the cleanliness levels in their own studio

What's provided in an off campus studio?
A secure passcode gives access to your designated studio.

Bed linen, duvet and pillows are not provided but can be purchased from a local supermarket.

For safety reasons, cooking/heating appliances and additional furniture are not permitted in the studios.

The cleaning service is an "assisted clean", which means the communal areas such as hallways/ stairwells will be cleaned, but you are expected to maintain cleaning standards in your own studio.
Images are used to demonstrate the studios. However, the layout and contents may differ depending on the studio allocated. Please see the "What's included" section above for a list of what is provided.
General
Other general facilities include:
- Laundry facilities (washing machines, dryers, iron and ironing board)
- Bike shelter (limited spaces)
- Secure mailbox at the reception area of the building
Further Information
- If you're a regular traveller to campus, it might be worth considering getting a free bus pass. Students in Scotland who are 21 and under are eligible for a free bus travel.
- You can catch the local bus services 25, 34, 45, 63, and N25/N34 (night bus) to the Edinburgh Campus. Service 25 is the most frequent, leaving the city centre every 10 minutes throughout the day, and every 15 minutes after 8.00pm.
- A number of supermarkets are only a short walk away as well as a local Pure gym.
