Why did you decide to come to Heriot-Watt over other places offering similar courses?

I came across Heriot-Watt University while I was looking for a suitable degree, which could become the starting point for my future career in the financial field. Given the huge variety of courses and extracurricular activities, Heriot-Watt appeared to be the best option for me. I have also always admired Scotland, so student life in the magnificent city of Edinburgh also seemed fascinating to me.

What did you feel were the most positive aspects of your time studying here?

At first, as for most international students abroad, the educational system in the UK was unfamiliar to me. However, as each student in my group was provided with an abundance of support and care, all of us managed to get used to academic life within the first week of the semester.

How did your Pathway prepare you for your current studies?

I have been privileged to work with eminently qualified academic staff. The Foundation year at Heriot-Watt University allowed me to develop the essential skills and discipline required for attaining my honours degree in Finance.

What was the teaching support like?

Teaching support was based on an individual approach for each student. Our strengths and weaknesses were evaluated, so teaching staff could help us overcome barriers and master our skills.

What advice would you give to an International student considering applying to the Foundation Pathways at Heriot-Watt?

If you are looking for an institution that can enhance your academic performance and prepare you for successful academic life, the Foundation Pathways at Heriot-Watt University can be the best option for you. Being a distinctly global university, it welcomes you and provides you with support on the way to achieving your goals.
