Profile
What programme did you study and why did you choose it?
BSc Psychology - I chose this degree because I’ve always had an interest in psychology, and I’d heard so many great things about Heriot-Watt, which is why I decided to study there.
Was there anything you enjoyed the most about your programme?
I really enjoyed completing my dissertation, as it gave me the opportunity to focus on my own research and write about something I was passionate about.
What’s your favourite / most memorable moment from your time as a Heriot-Watt student?
I was a member of the Cheerleading Club and Competing with my cheerleading stunt group for the first time in Derby and placing 2nd was a highlight!
What do you love most about the campus/facilities?
I loved that the Oriam was on campus, as it made it much easier to get involved in sports clubs.
What is your current role? Tell us a little bit about it.
I am currently a Talent Specialist for an agency specialising in the industrial sector in BC, Canada. In my role, I work with construction companies across Canada, helping them hire for positions such as Project Directors, Project Managers, and other senior roles.
I’m involved in the full recruitment cycle by attending intake meetings, advising clients on the market and hiring expectations, creating job postings, sourcing and interviewing candidates, coordinating client interviews, and supporting offer and onboarding processes.
Get involved in societies or clubs, as it’s a great way to make friends and socialise outside of your studies.
