Intercultural communication explores how to deal effectively with intercultural issues inherent in multilingual environments, whether in the context of international organisations or multinational business.
Building your knowledge of these issues will help you to compete in the global marketplace through a deepened understanding of cultural values and practices.
Our programmes ensure you will become highly skilled at intercultural communication in a variety of contexts such as marketing, tourism and human resources, and will develop your ability to negotiate in intercultural settings across a broad range of issues such as sustainability, environment, heritage and languages.
Our expertise in this area is focused within our Intercultural Research Centre (IRC) which works to address key intercultural issues arising from the changing global context in the 21st century. Its research seeks to build understanding of interactions between different cultures on a wide variety of levels, including sub-cultures, gender cultures and linguistic cultures.
