£1,500 payment contribution to living costs (First year only)
The bursary is not income-related and students do not need to complete an application form as these awards will be made automatically as long as students have given Student Finance consent for information to be shared with the University. Contribution to living costs payments will be made in three instalments throughout the academic year
Additionally, The University awards a full year's fee discount, normally applied for 2017/18 entrants in either the final year of study (first sitting only) or an exchange/placement/sandwich/inter-campus transfer year, plus some addition support for living costs to eligible full time students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, entering at Level 1 of a minimum four year programme.
Only full time students liable to pay £9,250 tuition fees, who enter at Level 1, and who are adjudged to be 'Rest of UK' for fees purposes are eligible to be assessed for this bursary.
Students who are awarded a Foundation Bursary in Level 1 will also be eligible to be assessed for the Heriot-Watt University Bursary for their second and subsequent years of study.
