Overview
The Housing Design, Development and Regeneration research theme deals with the processes and outcomes of development in both urban and rural settings. There is a particular focus on affordable housing, regeneration, housing quality and sustainability of environments. Researchers are not only interested in the physical elements of development, but also the process of design and development. On-going work for the Scottish Government is evaluating the effectiveness of a particular approach to procuring affordable housing and considers issues of cost, quality and governance, and previous work has examined the role of design in private developer housing in Scotland.
