On the day

On arrival 

Graduands and guests should arrive at the venue no later than 1.5 hours before the start of their ceremony to register and collect tickets.  Please see arrival times here for each ceremony.  The Registration desk will close 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.  Please do not be late as we cannot guarantee entry after this time.

Early arrival is also necessary for gown collection and to ensure you have time for the official photographer if you wish to have photos taken.  Graduands should ensure they are seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Graduand registration

Graduand registration will take place at the Graduand Registration Desk in the venuw.  Signs will be visible to assist you in finding the registration desk on the day.

At registration, graduands will receive a seat card (graduands must sit in the seat number given) and a student reception wrist band (if applicable).  You will be directed to the guest ticket collection desk as well as photography and gown hire.

Guest ticket collection

Once you have your seat number, you should then make your way to the guest ticket collection desk where you will be asked for your seat number.  You will be given your guest wrist bands and these should be worn at all times.

Gown collection

Gown collection will be sign posted at the venuw.  Please ensure you have ordered your gown online as Ede & Ravenscroft only bring a limited number of extra gowns to hire on the day.  If you do not wear a gown and hood you will not be permitted graduate at the ceremony,

Photography

Photographers will be available to take professional individual and family photographs. We suggest you come along for your photographs before your ceremony if possible, or after the reception.  Please allow enough time for photos, this area can get very busy.  Graduands must be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Graduation ceremony

Graduands and guests must be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.  Graduands must sit in the seat number stated on your seat card.  This is to ensure that all graduands stay in the correct order and are presented to Chancellor/Vice-Chancellor correctly.    Ushers will be on hand to assist graduands and guests.

The doors will be closed before the ceremony begins, and will not be re-opened until the ceremony has concluded. Late comers will not be permitted to enter.

The ceremony can last between 1-2 hours, please ensure you take a comfort break before entering the auditorium.

Reception

Following each graduation ceremony there will be a reception where refreshments will be served. The reception commences immediately after each ceremony has concluded and will last for approximately one hour.  You will require a wrist band for entry to the reception.
