Library

Study Spaces

Our campus libraries offer the perfect study environment, with a variety of study spaces for individual and group work, with many bookable spaces.  There is wifi and power sockets as well as networked PCs and printing/scanning/copying.  For further details see our Getting Started and Study Spaces page or handout.

Resources

We provide all the books, journals and study materials required for your learning and we have both print and online collections.  All of our online resources are available 24/7 from on or off-campus.  For further details see our getting started guide or handout and our Find Resources page.

If you have any questions, help is available in person at both Edinburgh and Scottish Borders service desks or contact us by email or telephone.

IT

Our IT services provide PC labs, wifi, printers/copiers/scanners, the virtual learning environment (VISION), email and free and discounted software.  For further details see our getting started guide or handout.

If you have any IT queries, our IT helpdesks offer a friendly and knowledgeable drop-in support service.

Audio Visual Services

Our AV services support and maintain lecture theatres and teaching rooms at the Edinburgh Campus. Information on your timetabled lectures, tutorials etc. and their location are available from teaching timetables.

Skills Development and Expert Help

We provide a variety of options to help you succeed at University.

We offer in-class teaching as well as our Power Hours workshop programme on a range of topics including information, research, study and IT skills with online materials available in VISION.  We also provide Subject Guides, User Guides and Video Guides to help make best use of our resources.

Study preparation for international students

Prepare for Success is an interactive online learning tool for international students who are getting ready to come to the UK for study in further or higher education. It contains learning resources to help you find out about different aspects of academic life in the UK and the skills needed for effective study.
