Student Success Advisors

University can be daunting, and there can be times when you don’t know what to do or where to go for answers. At times like these it’s good to know that there are people who’ve been through it that you can talk to.

That’s what the Student Success Advisors are here for, we are a team of recent Heriot-Watt graduates and we advise based on our own experience, so you can speak to someone who really knows what you’re going through.

We benefit from our recent experience and can advise based on it. You can speak to us about anything you like and we can provide support or an overview of the other support resources at Heriot-Watt to point you in the right direction.

Student Success Advisor activities

Student Success Advisors are also involved in a range of activities including:

• Pre-entry advice and guidance.
• Induction programmes.
• Orientation and welcome activities for students.
• Providing targeted updates and information about news and events on campus relevant to students.
• Working with Schools and other professional services to develop and deliver initiatives and activities which will enhance the student experience and student success.

Contacting a Student Success Advisor

Edinburgh Campus

You can come to a drop-in from 12.00 to 13.00, Monday to Friday. No prior booking is required.  Alternatively you can book an appointment through the myHWU Student Portal, or email your enquiry to studentsuccess@hw.ac.uk 

Scottish Borders Campus

You can come to a drop-in on from 10.00 to 12.00 on Monday on the top floor of the High Mill or on Wednesdays from 12.00 to 13.00 in the Wellbeing flat in Student Halls.  No prior booking is required.  Alternatively you can book an appointment through the myHWU Student Portal, or email your enquiry to sbc.wellbeing@hw.ac.uk

Orkney Campus
