Introduction and club history

The Heriot-Watt Netball Club encourages netball both competitively and on a recreational level.

We have 3 teams who take part in the BUCS League and 1 who plays in the CENA league.

The club has been gradually expanding over the past few years and we hope to continue this in the future. No previous experience is necessary and we would encourage anyone to come along and have a go!

Our club charter

We aim to provide the following service to all our members:

  1. To provide an opportunity for any student to participate in a regular training programme appropriate to their desire and ability.
  2. To provide a range of competitive opportunities to allow all Sport members the chance to represent the University.
  3. To provide an opportunity for members to gain a worthwhile social experience through the Sport.

What does a typical season involve?

The season runs over the two semesters.

Training

Training is held for squad on a Thursday night, 17:30 - 19:00, and for the club on a Wednesday afternoon, 16:00 - 17:30 both in Sports Hall 1.

Competitions

Matches are played on a Saturday as part of the BUCS league; we also have Conference Cup matches throughout the season and a one off SSS Tournament. The CENA team plays games on a Sunday evening.

How do I join the club?

The cost of joining the club is £10 for current Oriam members with an additional fee of £5 for team members. You can pay this at either Oriam Reception or online.

Please come along to a Wednesday session if you are interested in joining and you can have a go to see if it's the sport for you.
