Introduction and club history
The Hockey Club has 4 teams (2 men's and 2 ladies teams) competing in the British Universities & College Sports (BUCS) leagues on a Wednesday. The men's 1st team compete in Scottish League 2A, and is looking for promotion back into the top Scottish BUCS league and the men's 2nd team compete in League 4A. The ladies 1st team provide a competitive standard of hockey in League 2A whilst the 2nd team provide the opportunity for more social / recreational hockey competing in tier 5 Scottish south east.
An amalgamation with Inverleith Hockey Club in the 2007–08 season has helped to develop the club further. Inverleith is a local club with 4 mans and 4 women's teams that train Tuesdays and Thursdays and The partnership has seen a number of Heriot–Watt students playing for the Edinburgh side at both national and regional level. If you are interested in joining IHC then contact one of the Club Committee Members, to find out appropriate training times. The Sports Union supports the partnership and pay for your SHU and East District Memberships which is a saving of almost £40.
