This includes not tolerating behaviour that is offensive, threatening, humiliating or intimidating. Research shows that harassment and bullying remain significant workplace issues despite increasing awareness of the problem. We all have a part to play in respecting each other and inspiring others, through our actions to do the same.
In partnership with our trades’ union colleagues we have been working together on Respect@hw, which aims to provide support and guidance for our staff and students ensuring everyone has a voice and the confidence to speak up if they witness inappropriate behaviours.
We're developing the next phase of Respect@hw including:
- materials to support creating positive working relationships
- guidance on where to seek help
- creating confidential respect ambassadors who will be visible across all our campuses
- managers briefing sessions
- student engagement
