Stavros Karamperidis Assistant Professor of Shipping & International Logistics and his PhD Student Florian Scheuring represented Heriot-Watt University at the European Freight Leaders Forum in Antwerp in November.
The Forum provides a platform for knowledge share amongst industry advisors and for leading businesses to discuss and debate the challenges facing the Logistics industry in the upcoming years. The conference held debates on Brexit and its impact on European freight, and Mazda Motor Group presented on their logistics challenges and the barriers which may arise as a result of an ever-changing Europe. There was also an open audience debate focusing on Ensuring Capacity and Building a Strong Future - a discussion of short-term solutions for issues including driver availability and infrastructure.
Ast Prof Karamperidis chaired and presented a debate entitled ‘Can We Work Better Together?’, sharing his specialism in Shipping and International Logistics and fostering an environment for shared learning and ideas.
"The conference was such an amazing platform to exchange knowledge and get valuable insights into pressing industry concerns." "The open and informal way of discussions during the conference really set the bar for how pressing topics should be addressed."
