Teaching

We currently offer a range of undergraduate programmes in Accountancy and Finance, including our MA (Hons) Accountancy & Finance which is accredited by all the major professional accountancy bodies.

Our postgraduate programmes in Accountancy & Finance build on key areas and specialisms across the spectrum of accounting and finance, as well as developing insight and analytical skills.

Research

Our research in Accountancy & Finance benefits from interdisciplinary collaboration both within the School and across other key areas of expertise in the University such as actuarial mathematics and financial risk. This is reflected by our two research centres in this area:

Teaching

The study of Economics at Heriot-Watt University is underpinned by the work of world-leading researchers who design and teach our degrees with a real-world focus. 

Our Undergraduate Economics degrees combine an established structure with a generous level of choice, ensuring students develop fundamental economics knwoledge whilst pursuing their own interests and career aspirations.

We are ranked number 1 for Economics in Scotland and number 3 in the United Kingdom in the Guardian University Rankings 2018 and a thriving undergraduate Economics Society organises social gatherings, guest lectures, trips and networking events throughout the year.

Our Postgraduate Economics degrees offer students expertise from our specialist fields of Economics. Much of the content for our Master's degrees is sourced directly from our cutting-edge research in Economics and Finance, Spatial Economics, Development Economics and Energy and Economics.
