The Business Management PhD programme at Heriot-Watt develops the research and employability skills that young academics need to thrive in an academic career. A major part of this is encouraging and facilitating personal development, networking and collaborations both within and external to Heriot-Watt University.

In addition to the formal training offered in these areas, the Department holds regular informal training and brainstorming sessions to allow our students to work through technical or theoretical issues they may be experiencing, whilst sharing and further developing their knowledge and expertise.

PhD life at Heriot-Watt is not all work and no play. Social events such as coffee mornings, pizza nights, international lunches and pub quizzes are a regular feature. The community also engages in charitable and fundraising events.
