MACS Academic Wins Prestigious Award

The School are delighted that Professor Andrew Cairns and his co-authors have been chosen as the recipients of the prestigious Robert I. Mehr Award.

The American Risk and Insurance Association presents the Robert I. Mehr Award each year for the paper published ten years ago in The Journal of Risk and Insurance (JRI) that has best stood the test of time. The evaluation of the articles is made by the editorial board of JRI.

The award winning paper is titled “A Two-Factor Model for Stochastic Mortality with Parameter Uncertainty: Theory and Calibration

Professor Beatrice Pelloni, Head of MACS, congratulated Andrew on this very remarkable achievement.
