Bring your imagination to life and create something unique, useful and amazing
2017 is the Heriot-Watt University Year of Robotics and to celebrate we asked primary school children from Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife to design our mascot. The competition closed on Tuesday 31st January and the judges now have the difficult job of deciding their favourite design!
The winner will receive a 3D printed version of their robot plus see it online, in print and at our events throughout the year.
Dr Theo Lim is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and one of the competition judges. When we asked Dr Lim why the competition was such a great opportunity for local children he said "this is a chance to use your imagination and design something unique which has never been made before, there is no better way to create the future".
We received an overwhelming number of entries and would like to thank each and every child who took the time to enter the competition. The judges are very impressed with the thought, creativity and imagination put into the designs.
The winner will be announced later in the month.
