Booking

Delegates wishing to attend short courses should book their places as far in advance as possible. This helps to ensure that sufficient notes of interest are received to enable short courses to proceed as planned. All bookings are confirmed, subject to eligibility. Invoices will be issued once a booking is accepted. All fees must be paid in full 14 days before the short course start date.

Confirmations

Confirmation that a short course will definitely go ahead will be sent to delegates a month before the course start date. Delegates should note that, if sufficient numbers are not secured, short courses and confirmed bookings may be cancelled one month in advance of the start date.

Travel and accommodation arrangements

Travel bookings made prior to receiving confirmation that a short course will proceed, will be at Delegates own risk. Heriot Watt University will not be held liable for any costs associated with travel or accommodation or travel costs if a course is cancelled.

Payment

Invoices will issue at time of booking or a minimum of 4 weeks before the course start date. All fees must be paid, in full, 14 days before the short course start date. Payment can be made over the phone with a Credit Card at our Student Services Centre, or, by Bank Transfer.

For late bookings, payment must be made on, or, by the course start date.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made up to 4 weeks prior to the short course start date will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made up to 2 weeks prior to the start of a course will incur a 50% cancellation charge.

After this date, fees will not normally be refunded. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by letter or fax. All telephone or email cancellations must subsequently be confirmed in writing prior to this deadline. Action will normally be taken to recover that proportion of the fee due at the time of cancellation.

In the event that a delegate cannot attend, short course places are transferable, subject to eligibility. However, Delegates may be asked to pay any increase in course fees that apply.

In exceptional circumstances, Heriot-Watt University reserves the right to cancel any course at short notice. If a course is cancelled, fees will be transferable or refunded in full. Heriot-Watt will not be held liable for delegates' travel or accommodation costs where a course is cancelled.
