Why did you decide to study your MSc at Heriot-Watt University?

There are so many reasons why I wanted to study particularly in this university. I will try to specify some of them:

  • I liked the approach this university takes to the course (real research, real projects)
  • Great reputation for my chosen subject
  • Multicultural and international student life
  • One-year study programme

What was your experience of studying your MSc with the Carbonate Reservoirs group at Heriot-Watt University?

To be honest, I had a very good opportunity to be involved in the real project of one of the CRG PhD students. I got so much practical and real-life experience that it got me so motivated and committed throughout the project. Prof. S. Geiger and the team have provided me with a brilliant guidance and support as well.

Can you tell us a bit about what you're currently doing?

I'm currently working as Wireline Senior Field Engineer at Schlumberger in Kazakhstan. I have started my carrier path with this company in Kuwait and then got transferred to Kazakhstan. We provide our clients with state-of-the-art wireline logging services in open and cased hole wells (formation evaluation, cement and corrosion evaluation etc.) to help them to make efficient decisions in a quite short time.
