Can you tell a story about your research with a photo? We are looking for images that engage and inspire the public through artistic interpretation of research, whether it’s pictures of researchers at work, the results of your experiments, or the outside world in which your research takes place.
Enter the Year of Health photo competition, to capture and share your research through visual storytelling. A prestigious panel of artists and photographers will award prizes to the top entries, split into 4 categories:
- Healthy People
- Healthy Homes
- Healthy Society
- Healthy Planet
Each entry must include a photo, a title of 5 words or less, and a story of no more than 50 words explaining the research and its impact in one of the categories above.
The competition is open to all Heriot-Watt University research staff and students across our five campuses.
Entries will be shortlisted by the Year of Health co-ordination committee before a judging panel pick one winner in each category. Category winners will each receive £60 Amazon vouchers.
In addition to the category prizes, there will be one overall winner chosen by the public from the shortlisted entries. The public prize winner will receive £100 Amazon vouchers.
The closing date for the competition is Monday 30 September 2019 and the winners will be announced at the Principal's Public Engagement Prize awards and showcase event in December 2019 where they will receive their prize.
Please read the full terms and condition before entering the competition.
