As part of the Edinburgh Science Festival and Heriot-Watt's Year of Health, we will transform Oriam, Scotland's Sports Performance Centre, into a marathon of discovery, creating a day out packed with workshops and interactive events.
Our Family Fun Day is a free event and suitable for all ages, so drop in any time between 10am to 4pm, on Saturday 13 April 2019.

Food and drink
A variety of food and drink options will be available throughout the day, including:
Based on the first floor, the Oriam bistro offers a variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and meals. In addition, there will be two smaller pop up bistro outlets available on the ground floor offering hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Courtyard by Marriott
The Courtyard Edinburgh West is located opposite Oriam and is available for tea, coffee, drinks and food throughout the day.
In addition to their regular menu the Courtyard Edinburgh West invites you to join them for a barbeque lunch for all the family. To avoid disappointment we encourage you to book a time slot and include the number of people in your party.
Please note: the barbeque is available between 12 noon and 2pm on Saturday 13 April 2019 only.
The Student Union will be open to the public serving food and drink from 11am to 6pm.
Why not bring a packed lunch?
Visitors are most welcome to explore the grounds of our beautiful campus, which includes picnic areas by the loch and in the sunken gardens.
An indoor picnic area will also be available in Oriam.

Free shuttle bus
Courtesy of Edinburgh Coach Lines, a free shuttle bus will run between Westerhailes Education Centre (WHEC), Clovenstone Primary School and Oriam, every half hour throughout the day. Check out the shuttle bus timetable.
Heriot-Watt encourages sustainable travel options to campus and provides a number of cycling facilities.
The campus is well served by the following Lothian Buses service numbers; 25, X25, 34, 35, 45 and 63.
