The University has been involved in the Edinburgh International Science Festival for many years as a Funding Partner. In 2017, we were delighted to be taking part in multiple events around the city to celebrate the HWU Year of Robotics.

The Pints of Science Festival brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you. You don't need any prior knowledge, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science (and have a pint with them).

This dynamic, hands on and interactive event gave Heriot-Watt an opportunity to engage with MSPs from across Scotland, with the intention of increasing awareness and understanding of the potential for robotics in Scotland.
