Biography
Dr Shaharudin Yunus is an Assistant Professor at Edinburgh Business School, School of Social Sciences, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education, with a strong track record in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching, curriculum leadership, dissertation supervision, and quality assurance and accreditation. He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), recognising sustained leadership and impact in teaching and learning. His leadership roles include Programme Director for Postgraduate Programmes, Global Course Leader for Strategic Change and Systems Thinking and Analysis, and PGT Dissertation Coordinator. He has contributed extensively to Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) accreditation, Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation and reaccreditation, and Chartered Management Institute (CMI) centre reaccreditation. His teaching adopts a student-centred and applied approach, incorporating case-based learning, simulation-based learning (e.g., En-ROADS, MIT Beer Game), and industry engagement to enhance student experience. His research focuses on business ethics, strategic change, and organisational development, with an emphasis on ethical decision-making, governance, and workforce capability development. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to externally funded research, including a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) project on workforce upskilling and reskilling through industry-driven TVET.
