For many post-secondary students, the transition from school to university is a significant milestone. Find out how we support our Foundation students at Heriot-Watt University to cope with the challenges of adapting to a new study environment.

Using positive education practices, we prepare our students to not only excel academically but to develop emotional resilience and well-being that would enable them to have a successful start of their university life at Heriot-Watt.

By Associate Professor Jasmine Low, Head of Malaysia Foundation Programme

Associate Professor Jasmine is currently the Head of the Malaysia Foundation Programme at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. Using positive education philosophies, she aims to help students discover their own talents and unique potential and to become purposeful and responsible individuals who would be able to contribute back to their communities. Together with her team, they had developed the highly successful Youth Transformation Programme targeted at school leavers who are embarking on their University studies. The programme focuses on developing emotional intelligence and cultivating a successful mindset in students to develop necessary “life skills” that will help them transition from school to University studies and future careers.
