Getting Published in Journal: Guidance for Researchers
- Edinburgh Campus
This workshop is designed for researchers who are considering publishing their research and have some familiarity with the process and terminology. This workshop is part of a set of three interlinked workshops providing a comprehensive advice and knowledge on how to successfully publish your research findings. It is recommended that participants attend all three of these sessions.
This session will cover the following topics:
- how to discover journals;
- how to evaluate them, using metrics (including the impact factor) and qualitative criteria;
- how to tailor your paper to your target journal; and
- how to handle peer review.
The session will include a consideration of open access publishing.
