I truly appreciate the resources and support I have received from the school and colleagues. The University has provided me with the great opportunity to learn and grow. I will continue to contribute with my knowledge, motivation to further develop my research, support my colleagues and inspire students.

Dr Huei Ching Soo

Soo's previous research area was in queuing theory. For the past few years, her research work focuses on financial modelling and forecasting. Recently some of the problems that she plans to solve are the prediction of inflation rate using latent factors derived from the macroeconomic variables. The results on future inflation rates are useful for decision making by the researchers as well as the actuaries. Soo is a life member of Malaysia Institute of Statistics (ISM).

I am very pleased to be part of the Heriot-Watt team and to be promoted in recognition of the past few years with the University. I truly appreciate the resources and support I have received from the school and colleagues. The University has provided me with the great opportunity to learn and grow. I will continue to contribute with my knowledge, motivation to further develop my research, support my colleagues and inspire students.”
