We are delighted to announce that the University has successfully been awarded the Healthy Working Lives Gold award for the eight year running.

We have been delivering on the award criteria for over a decade with many of the elements thoroughly embedded into the day to day workings of the University.  The award demonstrates our long-term commitment to improving health, safety and wellbeing both within the workplace and in the wider community.

We are looking forward to another year of delivering gold class opportunities for our staff and students to engage in positive health and wellbeing behaviours. This year we have successfully opened the outdoor gym kit on the trim trail and started the Oriam Parkrun. It would be great to see lots of our students, staff and families taking part in these activities soon.

Sarah Robertson, Health Promotion Manager

The main areas of the award include designing and delivering a safety, health and wellbeing action plan, evaluating the progress and performance of all initiatives delivered on campus and addressing health inequalities, whilst striving to improve community health and wellbeing.  In our achievement of the gold award we have been able to provide evidence that a health, safety and wellbeing culture exists and that positive employee behaviour changes are evident.
