Heriot-Watt University has risen in the latest Guardian League Table for UK Universities.
In new figures released today (Friday 7 June), the University came 61st out of 121 institutions – a rise of five places from last year - while its overall position in Scotland has been maintained in 8th place.
There is further good news for the University with three of its subjects ranked in the UK top 10 including Chemistry, which has leapt from 23rd place last year to 7th spot, while Mechanical Engineering came 8th and Civil Engineering is now 10th.
The League table also confirms the best place to study Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering in Scotland is at Heriot-Watt.
Welcoming today's results is Professor Richard A. Williams, Principal and Vice-Chancellor at Heriot-Watt University, who said: “The league table acknowledges not only our fantastic learning and teaching programmes but also our world-leading research across a range of disciplines.
“This continues to enrich our student experience and is helping us to produce graduates with the necessary skills and attributes to succeed.”
Last year, Heriot-Watt was named best in Scotland in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019, for graduate salaries six-months after graduation.
