SafeGuarding Services were presented with an award for 'In House Security Team of the Year category' at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards this week.
The awards, hosted by TV Personality Tess Daly, were announced at London Hilton on Park Lane on Wednesday, November 20.
Presented by Mike Hurst from ASIS UK and sponsored by International Foundation for Protection Officers, Director of SafeGuarding and Logistics Services, Les Allan spoke of the achievement.
He said: “I'm delighted that our SafeGuarding Service has won yet another high-profile award as 'In House Security Team of the Year category' at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards this week. This is the second consecutive year that we have won an award from the security industry leading body.
“Last year we were the first university ever to win an award from that international organisation. To win again this year in a different category is a testimony to the professionalism and dedication of our team, it also consolidates our position in higher education setting the benchmark for security and safeguarding.”
The team were joined in the award by colleagues from CriticalArc; which highlights the value of the collaboration with them and the use of SafeZone as a strategic management tool to protect our University Community.
Now in their twentieth year, Security & Fire Excellence Awards has consistently broken new ground in highlighting the very best people, projects and processes that the security and fire sectors have to offer.
