More than 80 percent of Heriot-Watt students are satisfied with their course according to the National Student Survey (NSS).

New figures, released today, reveal a range of subjects offered by the University continue to receive a positive response from the student population. In total, seven course subjects are now in the top ten for UK universities with Software Engineering ranked in joint first place.

In addition, four subjects, including Mathematics and Statistics, are ranked in first place for overall satisfaction levels in Scotland.

The findings have been welcomed by the University, which is undergoing an extensive programme of investment aimed at enhancing the current student experience. This includes a major, £4 million refurbishment to the existing University library as well as a new £19 million Discovery and Innovation Centre that is scheduled to open in 2019. The state-of-the-art Centre will transform the teaching and learning environment, helping advance access to education in engineering and computer science.

The NSS gathered opinions from mostly final year students throughout the UK about their time in higher education, asking them to provide feedback on what it has been like to study on their course.

A total of 27 questions were asked, which related to eight aspects of the student experience across 357 eligible institutions between the months of January and April 2018.

The Clearing process for programmes at Heriot-Watt is now open. To apply for a place or to find out more information visit here.
