Heriot-Watt University's School of Social Sciences has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cairo University strengthening its international reach.
Campbell Powrie, Deputy Registrar & Head of Student Services at Heriot-Watt University - and former Director of Administration in the School of Social Sciences - signed the agreement alongside Professor Mohamed Elkhosht from Cairo University.
The document sets-out a shared ambition for the universities to work together in a variety of areas for their mutual benefit.
This includes collaborating on new research, staff exchange opportunities and developing a working relationship in interdisciplinary subjects relevant to both institutions.
Afterwards, Campbell, said: “Cairo University is internationally respected and we look forward to a closer working relationship with them in the future.
Professor Robert MacIntosh, Head of the School of Social Sciences added: “The MoU offers exciting opportunities for growing the scale of our research activity, which I'm confident will bring tremendous benefits to each university.”
