Students from Heriot-Watt's Masters Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management were given the chance to learn from one of the biggest organisations in the world when they took a class trip the Amazon Fulfilment Centre in Dunfermline, near Edinburgh, during their second semester on the Programme.

Amazon are one of the world's most successful organisations and one of top 3 supply chain companies in the world according to the Garnter Supply Chain Top 25 ranking, so it is a real benefit to our students to have one of their Fulfilment Centres located so close to our Edinburgh Campus in Dunfermiline.

During the visit to the Amazon Fulfilment centre, our MSc students were given valuable behind the scenes access and the opportunity to observe forward and reverse logistics operations of Amazon.

Learning more about Amazon's technology for automated processing of online orders proved fascinating for our students as it highlighted how their course work is being put into practice by industry leaders to acheive real world solutions.

The site tour was provided by Mrs Kristina Sulbi, who is perusing our part-time MSc programme in Logistics whilst working full-time at Amazon Fulfilment Centre in Dunfermline.

Following the tour, students enjoyed interactive presentation from Site Manager Mr Graham Alison, who offered more insights into Amazon's industry leading products and processes.

The students were accompanied by Dr Abhijeet Ghadge, Programme Director, MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
