We were delighted to launch this year's Industry Lecture Series with a thought provoking presentation by Visiting Professor Tom Hendren, Executive Chairman and Head of Global Business Development at Array.
Professor Hendren's lecture entitled “Bricks to Clicks” investigated the changing retail environment and the relationship between in store and online purchasing behaviours. He shared with MSc and MBA students his long experience in the Beauty Sector as a co-founder of Array, who supply visual merchandising materials to large global clients including L'Oreal and Sephora.
Students then participated in an engaging Q&A about the future of retail and the omni channel phenomenon. Tom shared his experience relating to the integration of digital into the retail experience and stated:
“In my opinion the success retailers of tomorrow will ensure seamless connectivity with online and in store activities, delivered to the customer in their chosen mobile format.”
Following the lecture students had the opportunity to chat informally to Tom and were delighted to be learning from his expertise. Elaine Collinson, Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies thanked Tom for an interesting lecture and his on-going support of our students.
The next Industry Lecture Series will run in November 2018 and will be announced shortly.
