Heriot-Watt appears at Orkney Science Festival

Academics from Heriot-Watt University are due to make a star appearance at this year's Orkney Science Festival.

The event takes place between 6 to 12 September, at various venues across Orkney.

On Thursday 6 September, the university will host Year of the Sea presentations at King Street Halls, Kirkwall between 12 noon and 5pm. Topics up for discussion will be the Blue Economy, sustainable fishing and the Blue Carbon.

There will also be a Science Festival Family Day at the same venue on Saturday 8 September between 10am and 4pm.

And from Thursday 6 September to Sunday 16 September, Heriot-Watt will be contributing to Museum on the Moon at Stromness Academy Theatre.

The event will showcase adventures in the solar system with guided tours of the moon.
