This weekend's family-friendly Colour Run in Galashiels has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Rescheduled from October last year, the Colour-Run has once again fallen victim to poor course conditions.

The event was due to get underway on Saturday, March 10th, but parts of the 5km course are unsafe as a result of the recent snow and now thawing. Organisers from Heriot-Watt and local charity, Live Borders are currently looking at dates for a rescheduled event in April 2018.

Lucy Graham, Vice President at the Heriot-Watt's Scottish Borders Campus, said: “We really don't seem to be having much luck with the weather firmly against us. It's disappointing for all those organising the event and those who have booked their places but we really have no option other than to postpone the event for a second time.

“All those who were registered have been notified and we'll be getting in contact as soon as we're able to confirm the new date.

“I'd like to apologise to all those who have bought tickets and are disappointed by the postponement but safety must be at the forefront of our minds. Any tickets already purchased for the 10 March will be valid for the rescheduled run.”
