A leading Heriot-Watt robotics academic addressed a packed seminar on Human-Robot Interaction at Facebook’s headquarters in New York, recently.

The social media giant are currently developing systems to advance longer-term academic problems surrounding Artificial Intelligence.

Professor Oliver Lemon, from the Interaction Lab in the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences spoke to the distinguished group of researchers about the University's ground-breaking robotics research.

It was great to delve into some of Facebook’s current research into AI and showcase our own work on spoken dialogue interfaces and our Amazon Alexa Challenge social chatbot.
