University chaplain Reverend Dr Alistair Donald attended an Association of Commonwealth Universities seminar this week, which explored how best to promote respect and understanding between different faiths on university campuses.

He joined participants from various countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Pakistan, at the three-day seminar, hosted at Liverpool Hope University.

Dr Donald said: “The ACU seminar was a very worthwhile exchange of good practice among colleagues at universities with a rich diversity of backgrounds.

As a global university with students from many different faiths, Heriot-Watt always looks to enhance respect and understanding between the different faiths represented in our student body.
