Heriot-Watt's Dubai campus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) to offer MSc Energy scholarships to UAE nationals.

The programme will run for one year for full-time students and two years for part-time students. Once candidates have been shortlisted, representatives from the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and the Ministry of Energy (MoE) will assist the University and ENOC in the final selection.

Our collaboration with Heriot-Watt University will enable us to further our commitment to develop the next generation of energy leaders and help them fulfil their role as a driving force in the country's economic development.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, group CEO of ENOC, said: “World-class partnerships are a key component of ENOC's heritage.

“This scholarship gives UAE nationals a unique opportunity to gain an international degree in Dubai while they acquire the advanced skills applicable to regional energy requirements.”

Professor Ammar Kaka, provost, Heriot-Watt University Dubai campus and vice principal (Dubai), said, “This MoU will give ENOC the opportunity to support Emirati students who will receive a world-class education here at Heriot-Watt University's Dubai campus.

Having strong relationships with industry leaders, such as ENOC, is fundamental to our university's ability to support the UAE's vision for a sustainable future. We see this agreement as being very much in line with the UAE's vision to build a sustainable future driven by Emiratis”

ENOC will contribute towards the annual scholarship with the tuition fees of the MSc Energy programme for four UAE Nationals; two of which will be ENOC employees and two external candidates.
