Over 12-18 June we marked National Carers Week for the first time and we want to thank everyone who took part.
National Carers Week is all about shining a light on carers, recognising and celebrating the contribution carers make to families and communities throughout the UK.
Thank you to everyone who took part by coming to awareness sessions, picking up information and sharing their stories to help us make sure we create a supportive environment for all those with caring responsibilities at Heriot-Watt.
We want to keep up the momentum. We are always interested to hear from people with caring responsibilities and we'd like to build up information through case studies about how our staff are able to manage working life and caring responsibilities. If you'd be interested in sharing your story please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have caring responsibilities you'll find information on our intranet pages that show how we support work life balance. You may also be looking for support among your peers, for example via our Yammer group the ‘HWU Parent and Carers Network' or through a range of agencies that might be able to help, below are some helpful contacts.
