The new league table, published by the THE, is based on the ratios of international-to-domestic student and staff as well as collaboration on international research publications.

In terms of the percentage of international students on campuses in the UK, Heriot-Watt ranked even higher at 13th in the world and 7th in the UK. The University also rated highly in terms of the percentage of international staff on campus in the UK.

Principal Professor Richard A Williams said, “We are delighted to be recognised as a leading international university, reflecting the standing of our international research and teaching.  We are proud to attract international students and scholars from all over the world and this recent league table reflects Heriot-Watt's success.  Whilst the THE ranking focusses on internationalisation with the UK, Heriot-Watt also has a significant presence overseas with campuses in Dubai and Malaysia as well as a global network of collaborative partnerships in teaching and research.”
