Heriot-Watt's Professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick has been nominated as one of two new members of the board of the National Housing Federation.
Professor Fitzpatrick, Director of the Institute for Social Policy Environment, Housing and Real Estate (I-SPHERE), is a housing scholar with a social policy focus. She is a member of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation's Anti-Poverty Task Group and recently chaired a review of the homelessness legislation in England for the charity Crisis.
Diana Warwick, chief executive of the National Housing Federation, said, “I'm delighted to welcome Suzanne to the Federation's board and look forward to working with her. Suzanne's academic rigour and analysis will be hugely useful in setting the Federation's future direction.”
Professor Fitzpatrick said, “I am delighted to have been nominated to join the board of the National Housing Federation, especially at this crucial and challenging time for housing associations.
“The Federation is the voice of housing associations and I hope to bring my experience and expertise to bear on some of the challenges which they face.”
