The Herald Fashion Awards celebrate the digital world of fashion and the top companies, designers, bloggers, entrepreneurs and retailers who are leading the way in the market. The awards are an opportunity to showcase Scottish talent as well as their commercial capabilities.

Ruth received the hotly contested award for her fashion and lifestyle blog called Urbanity, which covers ethical fashion, cruelty-free beauty and sustainable businesses while supporting Scottish artists/designers.

Ruth started her blog in 2015 as a way to share her views in fashion and lifestyle based in Edinburgh.  She said, “I write about issues in the industry I truly care about, namely sustainability and ethics as well as eating disorders and mental health.

"Since I started working for the Scottish Design Exchange, an arts collective that supports Scottish Designers and managing their fashion department, I have become passionate about supporting Scotland-based fashion brands and the shop local movement. I believe this is reflected in my blog and I hope throughout my time at University this will come through in my work as well.”
