Heriot-Watt University Malaysia has held its first Careers Day, which was enthusiastically received by the students.

Making this an annual event will surely encourage more students to get started on their early career preparations.

It was organised by the University's Careers Advisory Service (CAS) as part of a range of events giving students support for their future working lives, and it's planned to make it an annual event.

Student Nadiah Madzli Tasrin said, “A number of the employers present were quite well-known, such as MRCB, Shell, Nippon Paint and Maybank. I managed to get the contacts of a few of the companies and have sent my resume to them. Making this an annual event will surely encourage more students to get started on their early career preparations.”

Fellow student Hannah Rachel Lowe added, “I was able to obtain some first-hand information and internship opportunities from the companies that were there. Overall, the career fair was a great experience for me.”

The Careers Day complements regular programmes and talks run by CAS throughout the year, and which have involved companies including Shell Malaysia, Talentcorp, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and Alliance Bank.
